I always welcome applications from passionate postgraduate students to perform research in the Software Engineering field. My current projects involve empirical studies and the development of supporting tools that will considerably improve the software development processes.
The academic career in Software Engineering can be rewarding as it allows you to use your own creativity to tackle real and important problems. My supervision philosophy is to be committed to your research project and bring the best of your potential. However, for that to work, I would need you to meet me half-way and, should you decide to contact me for a potential PhD, I would kindly request that you provide a well-written project proposal, but most importantly, I would like to see some literature review in your proposal and also a statement describing why the research problem you are thinking of matters to the community and practice.
